"...And Then Some" Award and CUSD School Board Meeting RecognitionOctober 9, 2024 - Officers and club members of Knots for NICU were be recognized for their efforts at the October CUSD School Governing Board meeting at the Chandler Unified School District office.
"The ...And Then Some award is about service above self to help others. It's about selflessly serving others. These students have taken the time to go above self and to be able to assist others. And that's what CUSD calls the '...and then some' factor and it is the the only thing that changes the pathways of lives and makes things better, it makes things kinder, it makes empathy and people grow stronger, and it brings communities together. You guys are a shining example of the ...And Then Some award -- which is not given out as much as I'd would like it to be given -- but they truly deserve it and we are honored to recognize you. Each of you will get and '...and then some' award from this school district. From all our administrators, and from our governing board, we thank you for making the lives of others better and for sometimes sacrificing something that you have or you may want to do because you have to meet a deadline or make sure that that the need is taken care of for that hospital and for that NICU. Again, thank you, we are honored to have you here tonight and we celebrate you because we think you are something special and you are part of what makes Chandler Unified School district the best district in the state. So thank you very much for all that you have done." - Superintendent Frank Narducci Knots for NICU President RecognizedFebruary 2024 - Knots for NICU club founder and president, Karis Wales, receives the Superintendent's Outstanding Citizenship Award for her work with Knots for NICU.
